Abstract

The study aims to reflect on the coverage of the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on NGOs, set up in the Federal Senate in 2023, based on the analysis of two media outlets that are central to the dissemination of information on the subject - Revista Oeste and O Liberal. The aim is to contribute to discussions on local and partisan media, inserted in communication dynamics that change and renew themselves, especially through the use of the internet. For the analysis, articles were collected from the two media outlets mentioned, during the period in which the parliamentary inquiry committee was taking place. An interpretative analysis of the data was carried out to understand the topics addressed, the sources interviewed and the main narrative lines. As a result, it is noted that Revista Oeste's coverage maintained alignment with the parliamentarians who composed the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee, making use of the arguments presented in the sessions. O Liberal, on the other hand, provided broader coverage, with discussions related to the factual environmental agenda and the use of more diverse sources.
