Resumen

In this work we analyze some pro-anorexia Portuguese-speaking blogs, attempting to systematize / categorize their contents, and discuss the implications of these spaces, as well as the communities around them, from the point of view of self-image representation, public communication and freedom of expression. After a brief review of the literature and approach to the subject in the medical and social sciences, the main characteristics of the disease are defined according to current medical criteria, susceptibility factors, prevention and prognosis. After this clarification, we proceed to the analysis of the empirical corpus, and discussion of the results.
