Em busca da felicidade: uma narrativa

Uma das narrativas com mais história e peso na nossa mentalidade é, com certeza, a narrativa da felicidade. Em particular a partir de Aristóteles, impôs-se o hábito de se determinar a felicidade como finalidade da vida humana. Ora, esta concepção (da existência humana) é, precisamente, uma narrativa (que corresponde a um paradigma historicamente condicionado) e, por isso, admite alternativas. O nosso propósito, nesta comunicação, é confrontar a narrativa da felicidade com uma alternativa ao seu núcleo duro. Assim, colocaremos a hipótese de que a pior coisa que pode acontecer a um sujeito é viver feliz toda a vida. Para analisar a nossa hipótese – de que o pior que pode acontecer ao humano é viver feliz toda a vida – estudaremos, com o cuidado possível, duas narrativas. Em primeiro lugar, analisaremos o episódio dos comedores de lótus, na Odisseia, de Homero. E, em segundo lugar, abordaremos o Admirável Mundo Novo, de Aldous Huxley.Referências
