Abstract

We examine the creative processes of the films A Vizinhança do Tigre [The hidden tiger] (2014) and Branco Sai, Preto Fica [White out, black in] (2014), directed by filmmakers who belong to the territories being filmed. Those works offer an organic and shared dramaturgy, contributing to a more ethical representation. Based on the concept of “process criticism” of and through the approach of the “filmmakers’ theory,” we observe how such practices reveal a documentary attitude.
