The parabolization of mourning, baroque orality, and essayistic inflections in Di-Glauber
Abstract
In Di-Glauber (1997) by Glauber Rocha, Di Cavalcanti's burial becomes the stage for a transgressive cinematic experience conducted by the director himself. In this article, we question how the visual and sound materialities of the film contribute to the “parabolization” of the grieving process. We start from the hypothesis that this happens from the aspect of “heautonomia” and other essayistic inflections.
