Peer Review Process
The articles under the theme proposed for each DOC Online will be published in the "Thematic Dossier" section. In addition, DOC On-line publishes articles on other topics in the "Articles" section.
In "Thematic dossier" and "Article" sections, articles will be submitted to a preliminary evaluation by the editors concerning the adequacy to DOC On-line editorial line and the suitable section. When admitted, editors will ask one member of the Editorial Board from both a distinct author's institution and a distinct geographical area. DOC On-line adopts the double blind peer review policy according to which the members of the Editorial Board will not have access to the name of the author of the article and, similarly, the authors will not have access to the name of the member of the Editorial Board that evaluates the article.
In these two sections, "Thematic dossier" and "Articles", priority will be given to articles written by both PhD holders and/or PhD candidates. In the case of co-authored articles, the editors may change the order of the name of the authors.
The review for the sections "Readings", "Interview" and "Theses" is made by the Editors following the procedure of peer review.
Publication Frequency
Two editions per year: march and september.
Open Access Policy
DOC On-line provides immediate access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public promotes a greater global exchange of knowledge. DOC On-line follows BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative)'s open access recommendations.
