Editing Accounts in Contemporary Brazilian Documentary
Abstract
By correlating accounts from contemporary Brazilian film editors and the reflections of Comolli and Amiel, this article investigates documentary editing as a creative, authorial, and handcrafted act. Although with the digitization of cinema editing may appear to lose its artisanal nature, due to the volume of raw material and the endless possible versions of a film, this very nature is, in fact, expanded and re-signified.
