Documentary Micronarratives in Times of Hyperconnection
Resistance and Conformation in the Brazilian Algorithmic Audiovisual Ecosystem
Abstract
This article examines the transformations of documentary filmmaking in the digital age, focusing on micro-documentaries as both an adaptation and a form of resistance. Starting from a historical contextualization, the study investigates how these micro-narratives respond to fragmentation and the competition for online attention. Such works represent both a conformity to new viewing habits and a reinvention of documentary language. While there are risks of superficiality, they also open space for new voices and experimentation.
