Além do genocídio: poética e política do documentário de Rithy Panh
Abstract
In the interview conducted at the Bophana Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodian filmmaker Rithy Panh discussed his creative approach, which values listening and long-term relationships with those being filmed, as well as the central role of editing in creating rhythms and building narrative tensions. He also addressed his work with historical archives from the S-21 prison and his critical analysis of Khmer Rouge propaganda images. For him, cinema should be understood as a poetic and political form of writing.
