A obra de Edileuza Penha de Souza
uma análise de Mulheres de Barro (2014) e Filhas de Lavadeiras (2019)
Abstract
This article intends to investigate two short documentaries by filmmaker Edileuza Penha de Souza as cultural objects in their relations with black feminisms: Mulheres de Barro, from 2014 and Filhas de Lavadeiras, from 2019. The comparative analysis between the films allows us to reflect on how the director addresses the intersections between race, gender and class oppression and how it impacts the different subjectivities of these black women, giving meaning and protagonism to their lives.
