What life separates, cinema finds: women from Araçás congregate in "The end and the beginning"
Abstract
In The end and the beginning (2005), Eduardo Coutinho visits residents of Araçás, a rural community in the Brazilian backlands. In this article we highlight the relationships between some of the female characters who, at an advanced age, no longer leave the house and have not seen each other for a long time. Thus, the interest of this text is to comment on how the film brings these women and their life stories closer together, in a certain way, with each other and with themselves.
