Abstract
The article examines the transition of actress Norma Bengell to director and her project to film the lives of revolutionary women and Brazilian actresses. The research delves into Bengell's private archive, revealing unfinished films and exploring the motivations, political, and historical context of her career change. The article highlights Bengell's contribution to Brazilian documentary cinema and the feminist debate, particularly her involvement with international feminist movements. In this journey, we focus on the analysis of her first documentary, Maria Gladys: A Brazilian Actress, reflecting on the relationship between Norma and Gladys and the realization of a cinema made by women.
